Calculating the number of moles in gas present

A sample of nitrogen gas kept in a container of volume 1.7 L and at a temperature of 37°C exerts a pressure of 4.7 atm. Calculate the number of moles of gas present.

Pressure of the gas     = 4.7 atm =   4.7    Pa

Volume of the gas      =  1.7 L     =  1.7 m^3
                                                             o
Absolute temperature of the gas  = 37    C =   (273+37) A =310A

Ideal gas equation is
                                     PV = nRT
                     where R is the Universal Gas Constant = 8.314K^-1mol^-1

                      and  ‘n’ is number of moles

                              è   n =   PV / RT =  (4.7 x 1.7) / (8.314 x 310) mol

                                                       = 0.0031  mol

Answer  : Number of moles = 0.0031
