1.  Chronic Low Back Pain

Low Back Pain (LBP) is a common affliction from which more than 80% population in developed countries suffers. It is usually prevalent in people under the age of 45 years. It is considered a first indication to people to go for orthopaedic consultation or advice. The huge prevalence of LBP among middle aged and working people created the necessity for development of instruments for measurement of the outcome of patients with LBP. When low back pain continues after 3 months, it is called chronic back pain (cLBP). It is validated in a number of languages and is considered to have good construct validity, reliability and responsiveness and internal consistency. The aim of the paper is to discuss the composition and method of application of Roland Morris Disability Questionnaire (RMDQ). Other important features of the tool like reliability, validity, sensitivity, specificity , strengths and weaknesses and the advantages and disadvantages compared to other tools are also taken up for discussion.
