Measure of Roland Morris Disability Questionnaire (RM-24)--- Test Administration

1. Measure of Test
The RMDQ is a self-report of 24-items that gives the assessment of functional and condition-specific status. It makes a measurement of the disability of the patient that is caused by LBP. The questions relating to the test are extracted from a generic test used for measuring health status called SIP or Sickness Impact Profile.  A phrase was added by the developers of RMDQ to the original questions of SIP which points to back or the back pain of the person. This is done to make a form a questionnaire that encompasses the information on disability relating to mobility, mood, sleep, appetite, recreation, requisition of assistance and various other activities in daily life that can be influenced by LBP.

2. Administration of the Test
The test is an assessment and self-report. The questions are read by the patients and will be assigned “1” as score if positive and in case it is negative “0” will be assigned. After the completion of the answering process for the questions, the clinicians sum up the points to check as to what level the patient is on the disability scale. The range of the scale is from 0 to 24. The score of “0” indicates nil disability and the maximum disability is indicated by the score of 24.
